    Abstract

Filling kagomé-lattice photonic-crystal fibres with gas can create broadband, low-loss, anomalously dispersive, nonlinear waveguides suitable for ultrafast, μJ-scale nonlinear optics. We report efficient UV generation, soliton-plasma interactions, supercontinuum generation and multi-mode nonlinear effects.
