Perspectives that space is a global common and should therefore reflect the global community has become grounded in fundamental international treaties and agreements. While access to space has increased for many nations, not all countries equally benefit from space-derived technology and exploration. This demonstrates the necessity of greater diversity in space industries, space governance entities, and governmental agencies moving forward. When combined with the Sustainable Development Goals and the Space2030 Agenda, pursuing gender equality in the space becomes critical to upholding and achieving globally-recognised goals in this critical sector.
