Abstract

Tilting Winds is a practice led research project that investigates aesthetic understandings of Wind Turbines. This project asks: can making music or media from and with wind turbines be a way of repositioning and reconciling these objects in a landscape increasingly marred by climate catastrophe. This paper introduces outcomes of the work which were developed in collaboration with Cementa Inc. in Kandos, a small town in the Central Tablelands of NSW, 40 kilometres from the new Crudine Ridge Wind Farm.

Other	In 2024 the 29th International Symposium on Electronic Art (ISEA) was held in Meanjin, on the lands of the Turrbal and Jagera peoples, the First Nations custodians of the lands and waters of Brisbane, the capital of Queensland, Australia. ISEA2024 is one of the most significant international gatherings of artists, researchers, and professionals in experimental and electronic media arts. This year, ISEA2024 welcomes over 600 delegates, with 400 attending in person and more than 200 participating virtually. The program features over 25 workshops, 200 talks and presentations, and showcases creative works from over 200 artists. The symposium will provide a platform for individuals and organisations from around the world to engage in a conversation about the relationships between art, science and technology and diverse cultural approaches to knowing, sharing, and understanding our place and time within a rapidly changing world.
