Abstract

In March 1991 the Fifth Conference on Social Aspects of AIDS took place at South Bank Polytechnic in London. As in previous years, the conference attracted social researchers working in the field of health, as well as health providers in statutory and non-governmental organizations. Themes examined included perceptions of risk and risk-taking behaviour, rights and responsibilities, and the 'rationality' that underpins individual and collective responses to HIV/AIDS.
