Abstract
The reaction of [Ru(=CC6H4OMe-4)Cl(CO)(PPh3)(2)] with [NH4][S2CNC4H8] provides the structurally characterised metallacycle [Ru{kappa(2)-CH(C6H4OMe-4)SC(NC4H8)S}(S2CNC4H8)(CO)(PPh3)], related examples of which arise from the reactions of xanthate or dithiocarbamate salts with the alkylidene compounds [MCl2(=CHR)(CO)(PPh3)(2)](M = Ru or Os; R = Ph or C6H4OMe-4) and [OsCl(=CHR)(OH2)(CO)(PPh3)(2)]ClO4.
