All-optical switching of spatial gap solitons

    Abstract

    We propose a new approach to the soliton switching in periodic structures based on Bloch-wave filtering. We also demonstrate that mobility of gap solitons can be selectively enhanced or suppressed, allowing for precise control of the soliton dynamics.
