Angular momenta and spin-orbit interaction of nonparaxial light in free space

Abstract

We calculate the spin and orbital angular momenta of a non-paraxial monochromatic electromagnetic field. The orbital angular momentum has a polarization-dependent contribution describing the spin-orbit interaction. This can be observed via fine splitting of caustics.
