Abstract

The National Water Commission initiated this Waterlines report Approaches to, and challenges of managing interception: a review for the determination of run-off interception and the implications for the implementation of the National Water Initiative in view of the significant challenges facing governments in understanding and managing interception of water by land use activities. Not unlike management of groundwater, there has long been recognition of interception issues, but little traction in dealing with them. This study is intended to highlight the issues and to give some momentum to the efforts to address them.
