    Abstract

The book aims to study the tradition of Arabic literature that stretches back some sixteen centuries to unrecorded beginnings in the Arabian Peninsula. The literary culture of Islam and its Arabic medium of expression came to be regarded as not only models for emulation but also as direct sources of inspiration for the intellectual communities around the world. The book presents the scholar with an overview of the entire arc of Arabic poetry and prose. It illustrates how the Arabs have thought and argued through the ages. This book is carrying within its pages a wealth of cultural understanding with more indigenous sources of inspiration drawn from the Arab's literary heritage.
