Abstract

Two Large photographic works consisting of tourist website photos, self-portraits and text and were included in So Many Minds 2. These works describe the distance (both temporal and geographically) between Chiang Mai and Canberra. The curatorial brief asked for a response to Chiang Mai and I used the idea of travel-as-metaphor in my approach to making the work. This work extends my interest in working photographically and has led to me travelling to China in mid 2013 to photograph the medieval town of Ping Yao.
