Abstract
Clinical Communiqué Volume 11 Issue 2 June 2024
In this edition we explore the core theme of communication in health care. The two feature cases demonstrate the ways in which poor or missed communication between treating teams and their patients, family members; and other clinicians can impact significantly on patient safety. Dr Mary Dahm, an expert on communication in health care shares her insights on the critical importance of communication at all points of the patient's hospital journey; and Mr Peter McDermott from the Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care highlights concepts and practices surrounding open disclosure.
