Abstract
The dynamics of an atom laser was investigated using a comprehensive one-dimensional mean-field method. The frequency spectrum of the atom-laser output beam density was studied, particularly the dependence of spectrum on the pumping rate. The frequencies in the beam were determined by the condensate, but a complex relationship was found between the power spectra of the condensate and of the beam. A three-body recombination strongly influenced the the spectrum of the atom-laser output beam, and with an increase in the pumping rate, the spectral peaks weakened and moved to higher frequencies.
