Abstract
Patterns of Dis|Order is a collection of 21 papers dedicated to concepts of order and dis¬order, and the processes involved in the genesis and transition between them. How do we perceive and interpret chaos and order? Is order something we find in nature, or simply something that our minds create? What is the role of entropy in the genesis of either across varying fields? This book brings together researchers from widely different disciplines including Literary and Cultural Studies, Art History, Embryology, Mathematics, Physics, and Philosophy. In so doing, it is an interdisciplinary contribution to the cultural history of dis|order.
