N2 - We summarize the key contributions to a special issue on water justice. We contend that there is no inevitable arc of history that bends towards justice. Water justice will only be achieved by the collective actions of individuals, institutions and communities working together with a commitment to common goals and the means to effect change. We urge all who ponder on the issues of water justice, and who read and consider the stories in this special issue, to take the next critical step to become part of the solution, and in solidarity with others, to deliver a better water world.
