    Abstract

"The Good People" is a complex novel on all levels - structural, narrative and thematic - that also incorporates current themes, for example the difficulties of caring for the disabled for the family members. It is difficult now, let's try to imagine how difficult it was for a single and elderly woman, two centuries ago in the very poor Ireland? "Set in a lost world bound by its own laws, THE GOOD PEOPLE is Hannah Kent's amazing new novel about absolute faith and devoted love." It is also "terrifying, electrifying and moving in equal measure.
