Research output: Contribution to specialist publicationGeneral Article

    Abstract

THERE are undoubtedly now weapons (firearms) in Bougainville that never came under the weapons disposal plan in the BPA. They include the weapons still held by the various Meekamui Defence Force factions, as well as some other weapons not disposed of as part of the Bougainville Peace Agreement Disposal Plan; other (new) weapons believed to have been brought into Bougainville from various sources since the BPA was signed, (probably including some from Solomon Islands); and WWII weapons dug up in Torokina and other parts of Bougainville and brought into circulation since 2001.
