Abstract

In this chapter, we present a review that summarizes recent developments of high performance sensing devices based on carbon nanomaterials with focus on: (i)chemical vapor sensors for analysis of volatile organic compounds (VOCs)generated in the human body by alteration of metabolic pathways; and (ii)biosensors for the detection of abnormal levels or fluctuation of biomarkers in the human body. These types of sensors for biomedical tracking and bioanalysis and therapy can greatly contribute to the monitoring and diagnosis of cancers and diseases.
