Abstract
This chapter reviews the history of primatology work and teaching focusing on how the current status of primates has resulted in more people doing conservation research. It uses data collected on institutions that teach primate conservation courses to look at educational and training trends in the discipline and focuses on the main threats to primates and some strategies to improve the effectiveness of conservation plans.
