    Abstract

Climate change is one of the greatest challenges of our time. It is now widely recognized that climate change and biodiversity loss¹ are interconnected, and that both are increasingly influenced by human activity (IPCC 2014; Pereira et al. 2010; Campbell et al. 2009; Bellard et al. 2012; Parmesan et al. 2011; Rockström et al. 2009; Beaumont et al. 2011; CBD 2009, 2003). he recently released Fifth Assessment Report (AR5) of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) supports previous findings that climatic change will probably be perilously aggravated unless robust climate adaptation and mitigation measures are adopted.² (1) (PDF) Climate Change, Biodiversity and Human Health.
