Abstract
Community, in its current context, is a construct based upon uniformity, commonality rooted in nationality/ethnicity, and shared cultural, socioeconomic, or ideological conditions. When confronted with climate change, issues of vulnerability, exclusion, and social injustice are exacerbated, creating both visible and invisible divisions. To proactively shape urban and regional futures, a reconceptualization of community is required that acknowledges humanity's shared exposure to multiple planetary crises. This entails a collective effort in order to prepare for and adapt to present and forthcoming challenges.
