    Abstract

Despite growing demand for partner and child visas there is scant evidence on the scope and magnitude of their contributions to Australia. This research, commissioned from experts from the Australian National Universitys Australian Demographic and Social Research Institute, responds to this gap. It examines the characteristics of people who have migrated to Australia as partners, their social and economic contributions, the factors that affect their contributions, and the nature of family-related migration networks.
