Abstract

The reaction of bis(alkynyl)mercurials [Hg(C≡CR)₂] (R = C₆H₅, C₆H₄Me-4 or ferrocenyl) with diaryl dichalcogenides (ER′)₂ (E = Se, R′ = C₆H₅ or C₆H₄Cl-4; E = Te, R′ = C₆H₅) conveniently provided high yields of the alkynyl aryl chalcogenoethers RC≡CER′.
