Abstract
This research report: 1. Identifies the architecture of corporate OHS management around which the practices of coal mining companies have converged. 2. Conducts a preliminary evaluation of its success. 3. Identifies implementation challenges that may limit its contribution and explain the current plateauing of OHS performance in the mining industry. 4. Examines the interaction between OHS regulation and corporate OHS architecture, and how best to ensure complementaries rather than conflict between the two approaches.
