Abstract

Human language exhibits significant variability and diversity, influenced by social and contextual factors. Corpus linguistic typological studies explore the extent and the sources of language variation. By systematically analyzing multiple language varieties' use in context, researchers gain insights into human behavior, language evolution, and the human language capacity. This approach combines corpus linguistics and typological linguistics to understand cross-linguistic differences and commonalities in language usage. We present types of corpora for corpus typology, the importance of annotation and key findings from this approach.
