Abstract
In today’s world of multiple and proliferating trading arrangements, weaponized trade and growing geopolitical tensions between the US and China, it is easy to forget the vital role that the global order represented by the World Trade Organization has played in ensuring prosperity, poverty reduction and a rules-based international system for decades. That system is under threat, and it is high time to reassert the importance of free and open global trade, writes Shiro Armstrong.
