Abstract

This paper takes a reflective approach to a recently completed intercultural online communication project between students and staff in business communication courses from an Australian and European university. The project was designed to address a call within the literature to equip business graduates with intercultural expertise for global online collaboration. Based on our experience and the extant literature, we present a series of issues including university administrative support, defining project goals and aligning them with the course goals, managing interpersonal and intercultural relationships between participants, technology and training as well as project evaluation by students. These guidelines will assist management educators in developing similar projects in the future.
