Abstract
Dr Liz Allen is a demographer at the Australian National University.
She's fascinated by which parts of our population have changed dramatically, and which have stayed the same.
Liz joins the dots between Australia's past and present to see what the tidal changes in our population can tell us about money, migration and social mobility.
Liz's own story, from a childhood on the margins, marked by abuse and homelessness, to her adult life as an accomplished academic, is a remarkable case study in who we are and where we can go.
Content Warning: this episode of Conversations contains discussion of childhood sexual abuse and suicide
