Distorted wave analysis of the inelastic scattering of protons and the 9.63 MeV state of C12

Abstract

A spin assignment of 3 for the 9.63 MeV state in C12 has been made using a distorted wave analysis of the inelastic scattering of 18.9 MeV nucleons. The degree of polarization to be expected has been calculated.
