Abstract

The reaction of [RuClH(CO)(PPh3)3] with bis(alkynyl)mercurials [Hg(C = CR)2] (R = Ph, C6H4Me-4, nC4H9, CMe2OH) leads to the formation of the coordinatively unsaturated but-3-en-l-yn-3-yl complexes [Ru{C(C = CR) = CHR}Cl(CO)(PPh3)2].
