Abstract

Structural determinations of the E and Z isomers of 4-ethynyl-4′-nitrostilbene, C₁₆H₁₁NO₂, have been carried out, the first such studies of 'extended-chain' acetylenes bearing the prototypical NO₂ acceptor group.
