Abstract
Kinematically complete experiments on electron impact double ionization of helium where performed. Here we present fivefold differential cross sections (FDCS) for small momentum transfer of |q| = 0.5 a.u. and symmetric energy sharing between the two ejected electrons at an excess energy of 10 eV. The origin of the observed pattern from Coulomb repulsion and dipole selection rules is discussed. Comparison with first order Convergent Close Coupling (CCC) calculations shows good agreement except for features which can be attributed to higher order projectile-target interaction.
