    Abstract

The γ-ray decay of the excited states of the two-proton hole nucleus of 206Hg was investigated using Gammasphere and 208Pb + 238U collisions. Heavy-ion multinucleon transfer processes and the (γ-γ)-time technique was used to search for yrast states in 206Hg. The result shows that the deduction of a field gradient of Hg in Hg metal is 14.3(1.0) kV/nm2.
