Abstract
The results for electron scattering from tetrafluoroethylene obtained from measurements in two laboratories are discussed. A difference between ethylene and tetrafluoroethylene was shown regarding the role that the resonances play in the elastic scattering cross section. It was shown that there was very little influence of the π* resonance at 3 eV. It was concluded that elastic scattering can play a small part in the presence of this resonance in the electron transmission (ETS).
