Electronic journals procurement in Indonesia: A challenge of scientific digital information resources

    Abstract

    This study examines electronic journals in Indonesia. The purpose of this study is to describe the challenges faced by the librarians in the procurement and processing of electronic journals collection in Indonesia in digital era. The results of this study indicate that there are several challenges in the procurement and processing of electronic journals in Indonesia, overlapping of electronic journals subscription, and also the issue of agreement to collaborate between libraries. The main conclusion that can be taken is, the management of electronic journals collection in Indonesia is not good enough yet, especially from the side of procurement and processing. Suggestion from researchers for digital collections in Indonesia is there should be a good and fair collaboration in procurement and processing of electronic journals between libraries in Indonesia. This research is intended for those who have attention in the field of library collections, especially in the form of digital collections.
