    Abstract

This paper shows how the transient fluctuation theorem, which was originally derived for the isoenergetic nonequilibrium response of an equilibrium microcanonical ensemble, may be generalized to cases where the response is observed for different ensembles with different types of thermostats. The form of the fluctuation theorem may change with ensemble, not surprisingly since even at equilibrium fluctuation formulas are generally ensemble dependent. Presented here are numerical results for the response of the isokinetic ensemble to isokinetic shear flow for a system far from equilibrium in the nonlinear regime and for a system in the linear regime.
