Abstract

The recently released World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH)'s inaugural State of the World's Animal Health report identifies pressing animal health challenges, including zoonoses, transboundary animal diseases, antimicrobial resistance, and food security and biodiversity loss—all intertwined with human wellbeing. Across these challenges, the underlying message is clear: the ability to address them hinges on a robust, equitably distributed, and adequately resourced veterinary workforce worldwide.
