Abstract
The score was realised on period instruments in the Baroque Ekhof Theatre, Gotha, Germany. Cast included Lucy Mervik, Elisabeth Wimmer, Alexander Cadden and Norbert Meyn. The musical director was Peter Tregear, the stage director was Christopher Gutmann and the producer was Norbert Meyn. The Ekhof theatre, which was built in 1683, is without doubt a theatre of global historical significance as it is the oldest surviving with the original stage machinery intact, so it was very valuable indeed to be able to perform the work in this space. We aimed to replicate as much as possible the original performance conditions; http://merseburger.de/admin/dateien/upload/druckversion_tableau_0.pdf http://www.berlinerliteraturkritik.de/detailseite/artikel/ekhof-festival-eroeffnet.html http://www.neues-deutschland.de/artikel/151883.die-trauer-und-der-sanftmut.html?sstr=findelkind
