    Abstract

A mean-field model was used to analyze Raman photoassociation process of Bose-Einstein condensates (BEC). Thomas-Fermi approximation was used to determine the shape of the molecular component. Two types of stationary states were created in the confining trap depending on the relative phase between atomic and molecular fractions of the condensate. Analysis suggested that the interplay of nonlinear interspecies and intraspecies interactions led to the formation of mutually trapped states.
