    Abstract

A power recycled Michelson interferometer for gravitational wave detection was experimentally demonstrated. The interferometer with squeezed light injected into the dark spot could overcome the limit by shot noise at some frequencies. An improvement in signal-to-noise ratio was measured to be 2.3 dB and locked stably for long periods of time. The control, configuration and signal readout of the experiment were found to be compatible with gravitational wave detector designs.
