    Abstract

Generation of the zonal flows (ZF)-like potential structures via three-wave interactions of nonlinearly coupled waves was observed. Strong low-frequency components were observed in the radial electric field in the H-1 heliac in low and high confinement modes. It was shown that the symmetric flows were nonlinearly coupled to other fluctuations and responsible for modifications in fluctuations.
