Abstract

We explore the use of educational escape rooms (EER) in computer science (CS) courses, drawing insights from recent studies. A framework for implementing them as assessment tools is proposed, aligning activities with active learning, curriculum and learning outcomes, and user-friendly web software usage. Experiences indicate positive impacts on student engagement and skill acquisition, highlighting the value beyond technical knowledge. Moreover, EER can be adopted by any course of any size and domain, amplifying its versatility and applicability across diverse educational settings.
