Abstract

The reactions of [RuCl₂(=CHPh)(PCy₃)₂] or [RuHCl(=-H₂)(PCy₃)₂] with the N-heterocyclic silylene:Si(N^tBuCH)₂ (ISi^tBu) affords the coordinatively unsaturated silylene complex [RuHCl(ISi^tBu)(PCy ₃)₂]. For comparative purposes, the corresponding complex [RuHCl(IⁱPr)(PCy₃)₂] (IⁱPr =:C(NⁱPrCH)₂) was obtained from [RuHCl(ν-H ₂)(PCy₃)₂] and IⁱPr.
