From Youla-Kucera to Identification, Adaptive and Nonlinear Control

Abstract

Some twenty years ago, formulae were presented for the set of all linear time-invariant controllers stabilizing a linear time-invariant plant. This paper traces the development of many ideas from these formulae, covering linear H2 and H control, identification, adaptive control and nonlinear systems.
