    Abstract

Exhibited in the exhibition Indecisive Moments (28 April 22 May 2016) at Huw Davies gallery, Photoaccess, Manuka ACT. The work also featured in a paper in the Journal of Contemporary Archaeology. Glitch (2015) is a series of diptychs which examine a particular moment in media history, the recent transition from analogue to digital. In it I pair photos of analogue televisions discarded in urban environments with pixilated digital screen grabs. The series is part of my ongoing exploration of everyday materialities and the consumption and discard practices of contemporary society. It evolves out of my research into archaeologies of the contemporary past and media archaeologies as well as vernacular visual cultures.
