    Abstract

This paper presents a gradient-based optimization approach to solve optimal control problems in linear quantum systems. Utilizing an algebraic Lyapunov equation, we derive the partial derivatives of the cost function with respect to the steady-state covariance matrix. Furthermore, we formulate the gradient for the cost function when applied to a coherent quantum Linear Quadratic Gaussian (LQG) control problem. Through numerical simulations, we verify that our method effectively solves the LQG control problem.
