    Abstract

Green's functions for thermomagnetoelectroelastic problems with a defect of either a wedge boundary or a hole of various shapes embedded in an infinite matrix are considered in this paper. Using Stroh's formalism, conformal mapping, and perturbation technique, Green's functions are obtained in closed form for a defect in an infinite magnetoelectroelastic solid induced by the thermal analog of a line temperature discontinuity and a line heat source. These Green's functions satisfy the relevant boundary conditions. The proposed Green's functions are used to establish boundary element formulation for the purpose of analyzing fracture behaviour due to the defects mentioned above.
