    Abstract

Its all about Eve, is an exhibition which will promote the inquiry of what is painting, offering possibilities rather than searching for conclusion. Revealing empathy to the materiality of what paint is. This work will display and strive to capture elegance and poise within the fluid, sometimes rough and honest handlings of paint. Working through hard edged form and painterly gesture, and between colour and light. Elements will be seen to be juxtaposed by appearing to be formally considered and then buttered against territories where the paint appears unselfconsciously applied. The physicality of this work is temporal in that the work is built up over time. What appears to be an active and dynamic image on first glance through contemplation reveals a more complex engagement with pictorial space as a slow release. As an artists I am influenced by an interest in how light activates colour and our perception.
