Abstract

This paper summarizes progress on a project underway at the University of New South Wales aimed at achieving two performance goals long thought to be ultimate limits for silicon solar cells. These goals are the demonstration of 700 mv open circuit voltage and the conversion of 20% of incident terrestrial sunlight energy into electrical energy.
