    Abstract

This Community Report shows the findings of a study which took place from 2001 to 2004 of the needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander illegal drug users in the Australian Capital Territory (ACT) and surrounding region for treatment and other services.

This report is dedicated to the ninety-five Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people we interviewed in the sincere hope that the recommendations will be implemented. The words “I want to be heard”, which form the first part of the title of this report, were some of the first words we heard when we were conducting the interviews. We hope we have done justice to all the voices we heard.
