    Abstract

The diffusive v=0 levels of the 3pπue′ Δu Rydberg state of O2 were identified and characterized using (31) resonance-enhanced multiphoton-ionization spectroscopy. As a result, the e′(v=0,1, and 4) levels, e′ 3Δ1u(F1) and e′ 3Δ3u(F3) sublevels were observed for the first time. An experimental potential-energy curve for the e′ state, together with the magnitude of its interaction with the A′ 3Δu valence state were determined semiempirically.
